University of Tartu Press strongly supports Open Access in academic publishing. This has also been declared one of the top priorities by the Publishing Committee of the University of Tartu.

The Press is a member of the OAPEN (Open Access Publishing in European Networks), which is a collaborative initiative to develop and implement a sustainable Open Access publication model for academic books in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Books

A selection of books published by the University of Tartu Press is available at OAPEN platform and in DOAB.

Journals

Most journals published by the Press are available on various Open Access platforms.

Policies on self-archiving

University of Tartu Press permits authors of journal articles to self-archive the publisher's version of their work free of charge and include it in repositories, on personal or institutional web pages etc.
